This is an excellent hotel where everything works which gives the staff the confidence to welcome and look after guests in everyway. I first stayed at the hotel some 30+ years ago and this was my first stay since which I will repeat.
Top Tip
Ideal for The Royal Albert Hall, Maggie Jones Restaurant and the splendid Whole Food Company which is situated in the old 'Barkers' building. If you need to travel to the West End for shows its a bit far out, but a £5+ return tube is modest.

Fantastic view across Kensington Palace Gardens and from the restaurant across to Big Ben and the London Eye, etc - bus stop outside but a bit of a walk for a tube. There are no tea or cofee making facilities in the room which is a shame as the rooms are lovely. Short walk to the Albert Hall.

We had some problems with our room, mainly the lack of cold water in the bathroom and a sink that couldn't keep water in it. We reported this, but it only took us chasing that got anyone to come and have a look, even then the problem with the cold water was due to how other rooms had got their taps set!!! All seemed very odd to me, luckily if we ran the tap for 5 + mins we were able to get cold water - but this didn't feel right - what a waste of water.
The staff in the breakfast area were all very friendly, and helpful, the lower score is because of the level of service in getting any responses to some of the problems with the room.
